The Swampoodle Review

A weekly compendium of great music, scintillating discussion and illuminating commentary on the great musicians, composers, bands and and traditons that make our region a national center for a cornucopia of diverse musical heritage.

Listen to the "Swampoodle Review" introduction with original music and sound by John Tennison. The music is called "Swampoodle Player" and is a tribute to the great muscians of Texarkana's Swampoodle district where the "Swampoodle" bass line, the most recognized boogie woogie bass line ever written, originated. The steam engine sounds were recorded by Dr. Tennison at the Texas State Railroad and are an authentic Cook locomotive of the type that plied the yards of Texarkana at the time boogie was reaching us from the Marshall area.
